Common Problems

The following is a list of some known symptoms with our products; these suggestions may help you to correct things without calling us, and enable you to continue your daily work.

  • Black Lines on copies when using the doc feeder: check and clean the slit glass. Often times dust or other particles collect and attach to the glass causing marks on the copies.
  • Black Lines on copies when using the platen top glass: Check and clean the large platen glass area to remove any marks. Also, open the front cover of the copier and pull out/push back in the blue/green wand about five (5) to six (6) times.
  • Skewed copies: Check each drawer for any loose or mis-adjusted paper guides.
  • All Black copies: open the front cover of the copier and pull out/push back in the blue/green wand about five (5) to six (6) times. (These instructions can be located on the toner boxes as part of the replacement process).
  • Drawer Inoperable: Open the offending drawer and remove any paper you may find behind that drawer. Watch out for pieces that may have been torn off. Close drawer, then open and close front cover of copier to reset.
  • "C" Code errors: Please write down the code, open then close the front cover of the copier to reset. Place service call with that code for reference.
  • Have you used labels recently in your machine? Labels can cause many problems if one peels off inside the machine. When using labels, always make sure there are no label edges that have "turned up" slightly and exposed the adhesive surface.
  • When Sending A Fax, Your Recipient Gets A Big Vertical Black Line. Your scanning glass is dirty or has something on it like a piece of tape, white-out, etc…Many laser fax machines can also make copies. After cleaning the glass, make a copy and see if the problem went away.
